ACCA Conference 2010

Dear friends,

Conciously I have just completed my 3rd year of being the afternoon Chairman of ACCA Conference. Unconciously, I wonder how I had performed. What can I do better? If only someone could pull me aside and share with me his/her true opinion.

On the MBA front, the start of the second year has been peppered with emails back and forth with the MBA's managing agent and fellow students over the former's desire to offload some Edutrust's related costs to the students. The agent actually tried to "conveniently" slip us a new contract to sign. The money involved is not alot. But as the managing agent is a reputable organisation, I am quite surprised that they actually attempted. Should a business ask its clients to sign a new contract everytime the government introduces a new regulation and a new cost?

On the business front, I was really busy working with clients and searching high and low for an affordable and yet presentable office. I really have to thank the good Lord for helping us to secure an affordable office with almost all the necessary furniture in place. I want a fresh coat of paint before we move in!!!

Keep in touch, my friends. Best wishes to you.

Edgar

Belated Teacher's Day stories
Dear friends,

This year's Teacher's Day has been the most eventful one for me so far.

It started with a sms invitation for lunch from Justin. My first such invitation. Thank you Justin for the kind gesture. Thank you Queenie too for the nice email message. Thank you for offer of cakes from some students of ATTS. But sorry I can't eat anything during lectures. I also received a pink rose from Singapore Accountancy Academy when the teachers attended a briefing on coming changes to CAT and ACCA programmes in 2011. The other things that teachers cherished is the sense of having contributed to students acheving good results. Thank you for sharing your good news with me.

Next on my MBA progress, I have completed my first year albeit with one exam outstanding. What happened? I made a decision to skip the last exam as I was really exhausted after going through 2 papers while attending to my other commitments.

My fellow classmates (now friends) celebrated with a few drinks. Good day.
