Qualification
Edgar graduated with Honours
in Economics from the National University of Singapore.
While working, he completed the
Diploma of Banking and Finance and passed all his ACCA subjects on his first attempt.
He
achieved B.Sc. (Honours – First Class) in Applied Accounting under ACCA/Oxford Brookes University Degree Partnership.
Recently,
he started his journey towards MBA qualification.
Professional Experience
Edgar held various positions in banking, insurance and property sectors; and
managed projects and business units over several legal jurisdictions for more than 19 years.
Through
his accounting practice, he is providing consultancy services to small and medium enterprises.
He also sits as an
elected member to the Local Executive Council of ACCA Singapore to support initiatives in the interest of fellow ACCA members,
affiliates and students.
Lecturing Experience
Upon graduation from National University of Singapore, Edgar
specialised in teaching economics at diploma level for several years while pursuing his career in banking.
He
is now involved in various subjects under ACCA, CAT, ATTS and degree programmes with Singapore Accountancy Academy, PSB Academy
and other reputable institutions. Edgar's core expertises include financial and management accounting, and taxation.
To encourage diversity in reading and critical thinking, he writes for several blogs as part of his multi-dimensional
teaching approach.
